The Persistence of Memory
I posted this on another site before, but I think it might have been a little nihilistic for their tastes. It's just a poem I wrote. Feel free to add to it if you'd like. (And yes, I've taken inspiration from Salvador Dali.)
Chapter 1
Aeon
All is vain that ends in vain
And where is memory in the void?
I am held captive in this brain
A brain too easily destroyed
For everything is temporary
All shall die, and all shall fall
Belief our only sanctuary
From the reaper's silent call
One day I will lose everything
One day there will be no tomorrow
The clock is ticking, whispering that
Love is fleeting, life is borrowed
And where is memory in the void?
I am held captive in this brain
A brain too easily destroyed
For everything is temporary
All shall die, and all shall fall
Belief our only sanctuary
From the reaper's silent call
One day I will lose everything
One day there will be no tomorrow
The clock is ticking, whispering that
Love is fleeting, life is borrowed
